Product Description
Mill Row, Armagh is better remembered today as the old Mill Row. Built in the late 19th century to house the families of textile workers at the Low Mill it soon established itself as a landmark on the Armagh map, along with areas such as Bambrook and Navan Street. Throughout the 1900s the Low Mill (set in the background) housed many businesses amongst them the Canning, Dog food and Slipper factories. On a yearly basis families such as the Campbells, Kellys, McDonalds, Hennessys, Richardsons, Withers, Sheridans, McCourts and Keenans would have to vacate their homes and stay at the Blind Asylum due to the notorious flooding that beset the Mill Row, however the people always returned. Sadly consigned to the history books in the 1960s the Mill Row was and is still the birth home to many of Armaghs established families and remains to this day close to their hearts.
